Research Interests
Ieza Arshad worked on investigating the role of DNA methylation in diabetes. Her research focused on analyzing methylation patterns in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from diabetic patients, aiming to uncover epigenetic modifications associated with the disease. She compared these patterns with those observed in healthy, non-diabetic individuals with a hereditary background, to identify potential epigenetic markers linked to disease susceptibility. This study aimed to enhance our understanding of how DNA methylation contributes to the pathogenesis and heritability of diabetes.
