Zainab Atif is a current BS student investigating the role of arsenic in poly(A) tail switching of canonical histones and its potential contribution to tumorigenesis. Her research involves using qPCR to compare the expression of polyadenylated versus stem-loop–containing histone transcripts under arsenic exposure. She aims to understand how arsenic disrupts normal histone mRNA processing and alters gene expression linked to cancer.
